It is the goal Wrestling Program to:
1] Provide the student with an opportunity to
learn teamwork, responsibility to others and the importance of
mental and physical fitness.
We have a “No Cut” policy.
Unlike some other team sports at the middle school level,
Students are never cut from the team based on their skill,
talent or ability to win. Although there are no cuts, students
can loose their spot on the team for academic or disciplinary
reasons. Team members must strive for scholastic excellence and
maintain a 3.75 grade point average. Team members must attend
practices on a regular basis. Team members must follow the
rules. The Coaching staff is available to help solve problems.
Call, email or visit the coach to discuss any issues.
2] Provide the student with an opportunity to
prepare for High school and Collage sports programs.
Jepson Wrestling gives the students their
first opportunity to compete as part of a school Team. This
early introduction to the sport, combined with excellent support
and coaching has produced great success for Willis Jepson and
the Vacaville High School Teams. The Vacaville Unified School
District is proud of their California State Championship
Wrestling Program. The Vacaville High School “Bulldogs” earned
the State Championship Title in 2007. Many of the members of
that Championship team participated in the Willis Jepson
Wrestling Program. Vaca High and Jepson Coaching staffs work
closely to insure compatibility of the programs.
3] Provide the Student’s Family with an
opportunity to support the student and the team.
There are many opportunities, both at home and
at team functions to provide support. Encourage your student to
maintain scholastic excellence by monitoring and helping with
school assignments. Encourage them to attain and maintain good
physical fitness. Insure the student makes it to practices and
meets. You can support the team and your student by coming to
the meets and volunteering. (See the volunteer sign up page) |
