Scholarship hunting season is in full swing. Students (parents are also welcome) searching for scholarships should visit the Career Center to pick up a “Weekly Scholarship Update” listing all of the scholarship applications we have on file. It will be updated weekly during most of the school year. You can also check out www.fafsa.ed.gov for information on Federal Student Aid.
WATCH OUT FOR SCHOLARSHIP SCAMS!
The Federal Trade Commission wants students to be on the lookout for these warning signs of scams:
- application fees or requests for credit card or bank account numbers
- guaranteed winnings
- unusual requests for personal information
- unsolicited opportunities, You have been selected...
- large fees for scholarship search programs (most databases can be accessed free through the Internet, your local library or career center)
